It is human nature to seek for a solution when faced with a problem. Even in animals a habituated response are represented from a situation or condition. This is known as instinct. Have you seen a nursing cat eating one of its new born? It is perhaps to gain the vitality back due to loss of strength during labour. We are no different from animals.

Human beings had evolved into a better species to adapt with the environment and conditions. We are still excellent survivors. But in the time line of man a better code for living has somewhat existed in the form of social codes. You can say it is ethics, religion or philosophy. What is the name of this code is inessential. But how it has influenced man to become a better ‘animal’ is what matters. Instead of using this code from the ‘heavens’ effectively for better survival -which had subsequently evolved into social ethics, behaviours or law- human race had been witnessing conflicts with various ideologies.

The Ten Commandments are the laws given to a community who might have entertained certain ‘uncivilised’ behaviour which were rampant at that time. For example, “thou shall not kill”. In this modern world with a slightest evidence of DNA in a crime scene, the criminal can be identifiable quickly by current technology. Today there is no need to use a crude way to kill and get whatever you want in life. The criminal and the commoner are well defined in today’s civilised living. It is better to get employed and eke out a living than to kill someone and get caught and spend the rest of your life behind bars.

The code from the heaven needs to be revised. The code for living is to better your life. You and I will need a newer CODE for LIVING.

Communication

In the natural world everything is created in pairs- example male and female, night and day. In communication, it has to be two ways. If it is only one way that is commandment. God laws are commandment. When we use the computer we are giving command for the central processing unit to take some form of action.

Commandments are outdated. Communication is what we need. The subject about communication is wide but what I am exploring here is how we can become a better communicator with our fellow counterparts. Why I am saying this is that most of the problems in the world are caused by humans like you and me. It is because the media with which we communicate is by emotions: anger, sadness, happy, disappointment, anxiety etc. So when we use any of these channels to communicate the result will be entirely different and ‘destiny’ effected.

For example, ‘micro management’ on the face of it looks good but it is just another way of describing that ‘I do not trust you’. So if any one is faced with micro managers make them trust you first. Micro management is a product of an inappropriate emotive decision by the higher management.

Emotions are built in response which can be triggered differently with individuals based on their belief. But whatever is the belief if the emotions are controlled and channelled appropriately the result will be better communication and you can make your life enriching. The steps are as follows:

Organise

Be organised may seem to be a usual topic. However, most of our lives are somehow or rather are not organised. We have 24 hours a day and 365 days in a year. We are in the world of ‘competing times’. Even a child has to learn about organising his or her time.

A simple way to get organised is to ask yourself what is the thing you need to do tomorrow? If you have none then I think you are battling with boredom. Write out your things to do for tomorrow is the gist on how to organise. If you have nothing to organise then create something to do which you can read on topic vision below.

Develop

Adding something to your life is what I call to develop. Everything around us is changing. So we need to change too. If we become static we cannot enrich our lives.

I always inculcate in my children that we are growing and not re growing. What is re growing? It means we cannot go back to the foetus stage and grow again. Time waits for no man- even if you do not want to develop your life.

Take a look around you for a minute and think what you have carried out to get access to all those things – the most likely answer to it is that you have added on something to get it. For example, the laptop you possess is a result of savings from your income. If you have not added something to your life do not expect to enrich it.

Encourage

I am pretty sure you are not living alone. You are not Robinson Crusoe. What I am saying is that we need to reach out to people – be it a friend, neighbour or colleague. The secret to reach people is to encourage them. It cost you nothing at all.

Choose a topic about the other party’s problem or situation at hand and introduce a different way to approach it. Use phrase like ‘I would suggest you take this avenue to resolve your problem..’ The keyword to get good rapport with the other party and thereby enriching your life is by encouraging them (suggest an idea to their problems)

Anthony Robbins is famous public speaker because he encourages people sincerely.

Listen

Sometimes listening is better than speaking out. Have you heard ‘empty vessels make the most noise’? Listening gives a deep awe to the speaker. People will get immediate attraction to good listeners.

The next time you are in a meeting, do not talk anything and just listen. You will be recognised immediately.

Interest

Pick up an interest that you want to pursue. As a child I love to paint and draw pictures. As I became older I like the English language and find interest in building my vocabulary. Blogging is fantastic platform for me to communicate and release my passion for writing.

A man born with ‘silver spoon’ will not have a challenging life. If your bank book has no money it is not a serious problem. But if you have ‘zero’ interest you will not have an enriching life. If you happen to meet someone you do not know and what is the usual question you might be asking this person to know more about him or her?

Questions like ‘What is your interest or hobby?’ If the answer is a simple ‘nothing’ what you will be thinking about this person? Be genuine in your answer and give your comments below.

Vision

A vision is actually the ability to see things through where others miss them. Sir Albert Einstein was a genius and a visionary who have supposed to have used his brain only around 10 percent. In other words, if we use around 10 percent of our brain we will be known as a genius. What about the other 90 percent?

Integrity

Living can be simply defined by saying that you can reach out to many people as you like it whenever you want it. You can attract positive people around you. If you can mingle with people freely and easily then you are having a wonderful enriching life. Do not live like a tortoise – hiding inside a shell with a slightest touch.

Be honest in whatever you do and you will be loved by many. Integrity is like the pillars of a building. If it is strong the building is safe. Learn how to be honest as possible in life.

Give

If you ask a child for a favourite personality the immediate answer will be his or her parents. The next answer will be Santa Clause.

The reason being these personalities are ‘givers’ and not ‘takers’. In order to pull people to your side the only magic wand that I can think of is to give. They are giving their time and attention to the other party. In every religion, giving is emphasised. Learn how to give to the other party.
