Though ipad or Apple ibook might press on the shoulders of Amazon by slightly increasing their ebook pricing, it is still prudent to go away from tradional publishing for good. Books and magazines get worn out through time and they are not fungal proof. A book of your choice is easily downloaded by merely a clilck.

A Child’s Toy

If every school going child is given an ipad, a great burden is removed from their bags which are stuffed with books. Every morning, whenever i bring my daughter to school I will alwasy complain to her about her weighty bag. At times, her school bag can weigh up to 5 kg which is a very heavy and traumatic stuff for any child. I hope the shools will welcome ipad and colloborate with i-reading. The stress of children carrying weighty ‘riches’ will finally be over.

I imagine in another 10 years time, when every individual has the facility of having an ipad will be able to ‘borrow’ a book or magazine from a library portal. You don’t have to visit the physical library anymore and read your favourite articles from the comfort of your home. The allocation of space and resources of having a public library can give way to other value added developments.

When ipad influence many corporations and companies, meetings becomes less taxing as multitudes of paper documents are not needed for discussion. All paper documents can be scanned and reduced to pdf format for any creative discussion.

The maintenance of forest can reverse harsh climatic changes. Every earth hour we need to remind ourselves in what ways we are part of this climatic mess? Ipad bring back us to a paperless civilisation. We do not need paper and about 35 percent of forest can be saved by this gadget. A degree increase in earth’s temperature can change the entire ecosystem. We can prevent marine life migration and retain sea food supply and many marine life extinction. The conservation of forest can reverse the greenhouse effect on our planet.
