Happy Travel

The best part of newspaper reading is the column on travel. I always wanted to travel all Europe. As I was passionately involved in reading the flight dates, the number of days of travel and the economical rates each different travel companies giving out I was in a happy state, until I saw the news of the earthquake in Spain.

Pictures of destruction, toppled buildings and dead bodies attracted my mind to read it. Immediately, I felt a strong sense of fear. What happens if I travel to Europe and entangled in one of this tragedy. I also remembered the earthquake in Turkey some time ago. Do you feel the fear whenever you read all these stuff? You have to overcome your fear in order to unlimit our opportunity.

The mass media write and talk about the ‘ills’ of the world. The majority of news contains stories like killings and violence in many parts of the world. The Middle East crisis is one of them. This crisis has been there since my college days.

There are 196 countries in the world. My only hope to see 50-percent of them- as most territories are unsafe according to mass media. To date I have only travelled to four places.

Freedom

At least for a short while travelling gives me freedom. It makes me free from the routine time schedule that I have to do while in Singapore. Wake up at 5:30am, hit my shower, some prayers, and then to work until 6:00 pm, and then back home. I want to get away from this boredom. It is killing me.

In travel, I feel I am not committed to anything for a while. I do not have to wake up so early. I do wake up for some prayers. Then I hit my shower and expect some great places to visit. It is respite for me for a while. I find myself unchained from the chains of schedules and routine job. It is a good feeling of throwing of all these away for a while. I truly know the taste of ‘freedom’.

I feel most welcomed

As a voter and a tourist, I feel most welcomed. Among the countries I visited, I feel that the people of Thailand are the friendlier of all. They always have a submissive smile on their faces. They always greet you most humbly.

In the most unfamiliar place, the unfamiliar people are most welcoming. I believe so.  At home, familiarity breeds contempt.

Happy State

The one thing about travelling is go to places that are rich in historic and architecture. The place I was born is a shop house in the 1960s. The happiest time of my life is during childhood. So my mind is attached those things that happened to me during that time, even the site of shop houses or anything low height building gives my mind a happy booster. However, Singapore has some places of historic importance but it is all refurbished ‘very artificially’ losing the architectural behaviour and character.

In Thailand, the over laid electrical wirings along the rustic shop houses brings back my childhood memories. It was a wonderful experience there.

Actively Happier You

Travelling kills my time organically. There are destinations to go, places to see. I have to meet goals during travelling. I have to reach a couple of places in a day. As these goals are achievable, my mind gets a very positive approach in life.

Time spent according to your desire and naturally. At home, time is my master. It dictates what to do at a specific time. I do not like to do that.

Different Locations in A Day

I find that after travelling to a couple of territories, I am beginning to think I am actually a migratory species. I find that in travelling I am getting solace and peace. Even my first job as government office managing state lands, I felt my emotion was a very positive one. It is a field job to say.

It is always better to feed your basic instinct at times to feel better. I have to get away from here!
