Yahoo front page is a gold mine for bringing in traffic to your blog. I’ll explain briefly each one of them :

Yahoo Video

Click video and go to the video which has lots of viewings. Sign in to yahoo and make some good comments. I did this and got good back links and traffic. Watching a video is effortless but reading what is written needs some focus. That is why video popularity over writing is understandable.

Web Messenger

Download web messenger and go into any of the rooms to chat. If you’re new to chatting it is best to understand the atmosphere of this ‘reality’. If your blog is about weight watch then your can go to a room where they discuss about health. Always be polite and do not be carried away by popping up ‘indecent’ proposals. Be objective as possible; that is to find as many friends ans possible and get them into your blog. Introduce your self in the main board rather giving personal message. Personal message to other than your friend is taken as rude in chatting.

Sports

Sports is another avenue where you can get good traffic. Go to sports and click some popular videos or articles. Place some genuine comments with your signature.

Movies

There is no harm going to movies and do some review. You can add a signature but it cannot be hyperlinked to your site as signatures. But give your true ratings of the movies you have seen and get connected with other movie goers who can become your blog goers.

Yahoo Groups

Yahoo groups is certainly the most preferred site to me. Go there and you might find a site of your choice. Write some comments.You can also write articles and try to link from your site to others to proof your point. By linking to other sites will have link back probably.

Yahoo answer

Yahoo Answer is my favourite. You can sign in and ask a question or answer to a question. As you answer more questiions you will get a high rating. If your answer is good it will be polled as the best answer. As your ranking in this field gets higher you become popular and people will want to know who is behind those good answers. So answer well.

Yahoo Pulse

Occasionally in yahoo pulse favourite photos from flickr is shown. For example, while I was writing an article on earth hour I placed a comment on this picture and hyperlinked my signature to my blog. I got really good traffic.
